Yamaha NS-SW050 and NS-SW100 subwoofers

Anyone looking to assemble an inexpensive home theater surround sound system might want to consider a pair of new subwoofers introduced Tuesday by Yamaha.

The company, which has long advanced the state of the art in music and home theater systems, unveiled the [amazon_textlink asin=’B01LZRLF6E’ text=’NS-SW050′ template=’ProductLink’ store=’hc005-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’ceb6f686-194e-11e7-accb-ed4cca975ab3′] and NS-SW100 powered subwoofers, ringing in at high-value suggested retail prices of $169.99 and $199.99, respectively.

Both models pass along a pair of advanced acoustical speaker innovations including Yamaha Twisted Flare Port technology that earned acclaim for the Yamaha NS-SW1000 flagship subwoofer, when it was first introduced to the market, by delivering distinctive clean and punchy bass.

This innovation in subwoofer port design minimizes turbulence in the air flow emitted from the subwoofer to reduce distortion while producing a smooth, accurate and dynamic sound for realistic music and immersive movie listening.

Yamaha couples this in both models with Advanced Yamaha Active Servo Technology II which controls the drivers to improve accuracy and stability in low-range response.

The NS-SW050 and NS-SW100 subwoofers each offer 50 watts of output power. The NS-SW100 includes a 10-inch cone and features a 25-180 Hz frequency response. The NS-SW050 has an 8-inch cone and a 28-200 Hz frequency response. The NS-SW050 measures 11.5 x 11.5 x 13.375 inches and weighs 18.7 pounds. The NS-SW100 measures 13.875 x 13.875 x 16.125 inches and weighs 26.5 pounds.

Both subwoofer models are available now from authorized Yamaha Electronics retailers.
