Harman’s forthcoming HK Surround wireless speakers have received certification from WiSA LLC, the wireless sound organization revealed Monday.
The HK Surround Speaker system features four satellites, a center channel and a subwoofer that are all pre-configured as a 5.1 audio solution, according to a statement released by WiSA. The speaker system eliminates complicated setup while providing advance level audio sound from supporting WiSA-Certified source components.

The use of WiSA allows adding on a 5.1 and 7.1-channel wireless surround sound speaker system or individual speaker components without the need of a separate amplifier or AV receiver. Supporting WiSA devices, like select LG TVs, can be easily set up to link with the HK speakers.
Ironically, Harman is now owned by Samsung. Thus far, Samsung has not announced any WiSA supporting products. We reached out to agents for Samsung, Harman and WiSA LLC but did not receive a reply for comment as this was posted.
WiSA LLC, which was founded by technology developer Summit Wireless Technologies, is comprised of over 60 consumer electronics brands, and founded by Summit Wireless Technologies.
All WiSA Certified and WiSA Ready components work together seamlessly to deliver wireless, multi-channel audio. The system was developed for audiophile-grade experiences without the need of interconnecting speaker cables.
