Walmart Launches `onn.’ Roku TVs For Black Friday
Did you discover this week that your 5-year-old or older smart TV, Blu-ray player or media adapter isn’t so smart and won’t get the new Apple TV+, Disney+ or maybe even the updated Netflix app? Roku is offering a few affordable solutions that are seeing big savings over the Black Friday promotional period including the first “onn.” branded Roku TVs from Walmart.
Roku and customer/partner Walmart said Thursday the giant retail chain is offering a limited-edition “onn.-branded” Roku TV and a limited-edition Roku SE streaming player exclusively in-store at Walmart for the Black Friday sales bonanza (and, yes, you will be able to stream Bonanza TV epsiodes on The Roku Channel through the Roku OS platform).
Walmart is rolling out the first-ever “onn.” Roku TV, which it is carrying exclusively in-store beginning Nov. 29 (Black Friday), while supplies last.
The new onn. Roku TV edition is the next product in the growing new Walmart house brand assortment, following the earlier releases of the onn. Roku Soundbar and the onn. Roku Subwoofer, both of which will match perfectly with the new The new onn. Roku TV, for an insanely reasonable extra price for the level of performance they provide.
The onn. Roku TV will be available in three sizes including a Full HD 1080p 40-inch model (carrying an seemingly impossible $98 suggested retail price), a 4K Ultra HD 50-inch model (at a staggering $148) and 4K 58-inch model for (just $198). These offers are available as long as supplies last, which we expect won’t be long.
The onn. Roku TVs will have 60 Hz native refresh rate LED LCD planels; 3 HDMI inputs; 1 or 2 USB ports depending on the model; and compatibility with third part voice assistants.
If you don’t need another TV but are interested in seeing what all the fuss is about with the wildly popular Roku streaming experience, Walmart will also be offering a limited-edition Roku SE streaming player only in Walmart stores for just an $18 suggested retail price.
Both Roku TVs and Roku streaming media adapters offer access to hundreds of free channels or subscription streaming apps including The Roku Channel that provides hundreds of free ad-supported movies and TV programs. Roku SE is available in store at Walmart and online at Walmart.com beginning Nov. 28 while supplies last.
If you don’t have a Walmart store near you or don’t have the time to make a Black Friday appearance at one, you are still in luck.
