This Week’s Hottest HDTV Deals
The HD Guru searched the New York metro area (Sunday December 2, 2007) newspapers and websites for this week’s best HDTV deals, (defined as top tier brand HDTVs, with the biggest discounts). This is an off week for HDTV deals at the largest national electronics retailers, Best Buy (just 1) and Circuit City (1). I expect better savings next week from these giants.
You can use these low prices at the stores advertised or in many cases, get an even better deal at the HD Guru’s internet shopping link by entering the model you desire in the “Product Search†Box under the HD Guru’s “Check Prices†banner in the right column of this page. It will take you to the HD Guru shopping page, powered by Price Grabber. You may also use the prices listed below to negotiate with your local retailer, especially if they have a price match policy. Today’s bargains are from Best Buy, Circuit City, (national retailers), J&R Music World (JR) -www.jr.com (online ordering and NY City store) Frys- www.frys.com (online ordering and stores in CA,TX,GA,WA,IL,NV, IN,AZ,OR.), Vanns-www.vans.com, a Montana retailer and online ordering and 6th Ave Electronics-www.6ave.com with stores in NY/ NJ. 6th Ave prices “in store†from its circular. Online prices are subject to change.

dude, don,t buy Olevia. They’re junk! This month you’ll be able to buy a Sony or Samsung 1080p for what you payed for that crappy Olevia. Sonys XBR6 line is here!
OLEVIA NIGHTMARE-
Can anyone please help me resolve an ongoing technical problem I am having with my Olevia LT37HVS LCD television…
this is the worst piece of @#$% I’ve ever bought…and of course it crashed on me after the 1-year warranty expired…DOES ANYONE KNOW A SERVICE TECHNICAN IN THE LONG ISLAND NY AREA????
I am looking for the article that talks about the Vizio, Olevia and others. There is an article that pointed me to this site but I am unable to find the exact article. Please give me the url.
Thanks Guys
I changed to satelite right after purchasing a Sony Wega HDTV & have an Anolog upstairs & my Wega in family downstairs hooked to a DVR. I am replacing the anolog with Sharp Aquos 1080P. Can I hook it up to that simple cable & then do I somehow have to run another HDMI cable to the DVR?
The DVR is made for only one HDTV & one Analog?
Please help! Thanks! Danny
GURU,
THANK YOU! I have learned more anout HDTV on this site than everywhere else I have ever looked. BUT I still can not decide! I live for watching sports (hockey and football) and playing PS3. While I began leaning toward an LCD I have been swayed by the reviews of the Pansonic TH-50P2700U and now the 750. Then I stumbled upon this model but couldn’t find much info on it! Panasonic TH-50PF10UK 50″ Plasma Display – If you had to choose between the three sets, what would you do?? I’m Willing to SPend about 3 grand and just want to make the right choice. My first was the SONY 46 XRB LCD but somehow I’m now on the plasma trip PLEASE HELP ME!?!?!?!?!
Pioneer’s deep black KURO 50″ 720p plasma ($3500 MSRP) is on sale this week at Best Buy for just $2700, and another 10% off if you have a preferred customer coupon. Pioneer makes the BEST HDTVs you can buy, and they are worth spending a little more. Remember, just a few years ago, a Pioneer plasma was priced north of $5000!
Obviously John you haven’t read the article on third rate manufacturers (Consumer Alert) above concerning Vizio. Frankly, I’d rather not have to even consider buying another TV for 8-10 years. I hope your “DLP is the way to go” comment is tongue in cheek. The real funny thing is that Pioneer isn’t listed. As much as I’d like to see it in the list, there isn’t a reason to discount the best picture in the business. I posted a similar comment of “you don’t see Mercedes or Rolex discounted”. Believe me, I’m looking.
It is funny that Vizio is not included in these listings. The number one supplier of LCD tvs is omitted. If you want a real nice picture, Dlp is the only way to go.
