Roku announced Wednesday that it is bringing to its ad-supported The Roku Channel special seasonal programming featuring thousands of movies and TV shows, live TV channels, and kids & family entertainment geared to the holidays.

U.S. Roku Channel will be transformed into winter hub for the first time, presenting curated collections of thousands of hit Holiday-themed movies and TV shows, live TV channels (including a 24-hour Yule Log channel), kids and family entertainment and other offerings.

The Roku Channel will also make it easy to find holiday music streamed from popular music services including iHeartRadio and Vevo. Starting today, users will find available new linear music channels, and later this month, The Roku Channel will debut a dedicated music experience called Music on The Roku Channel.

Also starting today in the U.S., viewers will be able to enjoy the release of Roku’s first ever feature-length film, Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas, from Lionsgate Television, featuring original Holiday tunes that will be streammable elsewhere on the hub throughout the season.

This will be found under a new linear channel called “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” including musical clips from the movie. The aforementioned “Music on The Roku Channel,” section, will include an assortment of channels and music video programming available from iHeartRadio, Qwest Jazz, Stingray and Vevo.

Also starting on Dec. 27th, Roku will present across its U.S. devices a first-ever immersive New Years’ experience, including a Roku 2022 countdown clock accessible from the home screen, and a holiday themed screen saver.

The Roku Channel has also arranged to offer a special episode of its weekly entertainment show “Roku Recommends,” offering the Top 10 shows of 2021. The seasonal special is entitled, “The Year in Streaming.”

The show will include Liza Katzerand, Jamie Lee, (producers of “Ted Lasso”), Amy Ryan (“Only Murders in the Building”), O.T. Fagbenle (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Chrishell Stause (“Selling Sunset”), Karamo Brown (“Queer Eye”), and others.

Viewers will also be able to watch and listen to a 24-hour Yule Log channel for a fix of holiday cheer.
