Sony RX10 IV Cybershot Gets Animal Eye AF Update
Owners of the Sony RX10 IV Cybershot camera will be pleased to learn that a firmware update (v 2.00) is now available to add the company’s Real-Time Animal Eye Auto Focus (AF) technology to the popular single-lens one-inch bridge camera.
Sony said the feature will be added to the Cybershot RX10 IV’s powerful phase-detect AF system, bringing the ability to accurately track and focus on an animal’s eye.
Sony said the RX10 IV, which is available in a kit for a $1,698 street retail, will be the first bridge camera in its class to offer the specialized AF capability.
Sony said the firmware update testifies to its “commitment to bringing the newest technologies to existing customers through firmware where possible, and shows the company’s commitment to bringing the best of their technology to all customers, regardless of photographic skill level, or camera price point.”
For those with Sony RX10 IV cameras, the firmware download is available through this link.
