Sony Electronics officially released pricing on select 2019 LCD and OLED TVs, many of which were originally introduced at CES 2019 last January.
These premium televisions are scheduled to be released stating today for some models, running through the Spring/Summer months for others. All will be available at leading authorized Sony dealers including: Best Buy, Amazon and others.
4K A9G Series OLED TVs

Highlighting the releases will be models in Sony’s flagship Master Series 4K OLED TVs in the A9G 4K series. These models feature the 77-, 65- and 55-inch screen sizes. Using OLED technology, these models will have ultra-wide viewing angles, rich, deep and wide colors, and the lowest black levels available. Sony is driving its picture processing technologies in these sets using its powerful and fast Picture Processor X1 Ultimate chip.
The A9G also includes Sony’s Pixel Contrast Booster for more color and contrast in bright areas, for accurte results reflecting the original intent of the content creator. Other features include Netflix
Calibrated Mode and IMAX Enhanced certification with DTS audio to replicate the experiences intended for both streaming and super-large screen theaters. The sets also support the HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision High Dynamic Range (HDR) profiles along with Dolby Atmos 3D object-based surround sound.

For sound, Sony has added its Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology that creates stereo sound by vibrating the thin OLED panel to generate sound that appears to be coming directly from the characters and subjects in the frame.
For smart TV streaming, the sets also support Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit later this year.

8K Z9G 8K HDR LED LCD TV Series
The Sony Master Series Z9G 8K HDR TV (pictured at top) is raising the bar on big-screen TVs for the home, by delivering the extra resolution and picture data needed to fill the screen with pixels through the company’s first 8K televisions in the Z9G full-array with local dimming LED-LCD TV series. The super bright and sharp televisions are powered by the company’s X1 Ultimate processor that has been optimized to handle 33 million pixels.
Sony said the processor “plays a vital role in delivering the high-quality picture in the Master Series” using a unique algorithm specially developed for 8K that can detect and analyze each object in the picture. Sony also employs its new intelligent technologies including Backlight Master Drive with full-array local dimming, and 8K X-tended Dynamic Range PRO, to deliver the level of detail and accuracy needed to generate on the giant screens 8K images that look like reality. Additionally, for added smart home convenience the Z9G series will support Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit later this year.

4K A8G OLED TV Series
The Sony A8G Series of 4K OLED TVs offer the deep blacks, wide viewing angles and rich wide colors that OLED technology delivers. The A8G series also supports 4K HDR with Dolby Vision by incorporating three new technologies via the 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme: Object-based HDR remaster, 4K HDR Super Bit Mapping and dual database processing.
The sets are also IMAX Enhanced certified for an enhanced at-home viewing experience, and feature Acoustic Surface Audio that resonates the entire screen to serve as a speaker, allowing for Sound-from-Picture Reality.

4K X950G LED LCD TV Series

Sony X950G 4K HDR LED LCD TV series models are equipped with the new Picture Processor X1 Ultimate chip driving an assortment of features for high-quality 4K HDR LCD viewing. These include: X-tended Dynamic Range PRO that provides “six-times the contrast of Sony’s conventional LED TVs,” while X-Wide Angle and X-Motion Clarity allow for a smooth, clear picture no matter the scene or viewing angle, the company said. The X950G LCD TV is also IMAX Enhanced and supports both Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos object-based surround sound. The series will also be getting an update to support Apple AirPlay and HomeKit. For sound, Sony has added its Acoustic Multi-Audio sound technology. For the best performance in the viewing environment, Sony provides Netflix Calibrated Mode that is said to deliver Netflix entertainment the way it appears on monitors in the Netflix studios.

4K X850G LED LCD TV Series
The Sony X850G 4K HDR LED LCD TV series combines the power of Sony’s 4K HDR Processor X1 with Acoustic Multi-Audio via Sound Positioning Tweeters. Sony said this ensures action and sound are “precisely aligned for the best viewing experience.”
The series also features Sony’s Triluminos Display technology that produces enhanced wide-gamut color accuracy. Other key features in the X850G series are the Android TV smart TV OS with Google Assistant built in, the same platform used in all of the other premium TV series. The system is compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa smart speakers (sold separately). Upgraded smart remote is included.

4K X800G LED LCD TV Series
The Sony X800G 4K HDR LED LCD TV series offers high performance at a value. The sets can present both 4K resolution and HDR, using picture enhancing technologies like 4K X-Reality PRO upscaling, which upscales video of an resolution to near-4K quality on the screen. The sets also use Sony’s Triluminos Display technology for life-like color.
