The sets also feature Sony’s X-tended Dynamic Range PRO 6x technology that produces detailed dark and bright white scenes with what Sony said is up to “six times the contrast of conventional LED TVs.”

The X900F series also include X-Motion Clarity that smooths out blurring and judder in fast action images with no loss in brightness.  The TVs also include Sony’s Triluminos Display engine that maps colors from a wider palette with high accuracy.

For HDR, the X900F 4K HDR Ultra HD TVs will handle the baseline HDR10  profile as well as Dolby Vision HDR and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), the latter of which can be used with certain live DirecTV 4K Ultra HD presentations and could possibly be used to view HDR broadcasts from ATSC 3.0 station signals and/or cable, satellite and possibly some streaming services.

4K X850G LED LCD TV Series

The Sony X850G 4K HDR LED LCD TV series was launched in 2019 and combines the power of Sony’s 4K HDR Processor X1 with Acoustic Multi-Audio via Sound Positioning Tweeters. Sony said this ensures action and sound are “precisely aligned for the best viewing experience” on the screen.

The series also features Sony’s Triluminos Display technology that produces enhanced wide-gamut color accuracy. Other key features in the X850G series are the Android TV smart TV OS with Google Assistant built in, the same platform used in all of the company’s top premium TV series. The system is compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa smart speakers (sold separately). An upgraded smart remote is included.

• The Sony 85-inch Bravia XBR 85X850G, originally showing a $3,499.99 MSRP, on sale for $1999 (an $800 savings on the last regular UPP price).
