Sony introduced Thursday its ZV-1F, a new entry level camera in the company’s vlogger-optimized lineup.

The Sony ZV-1F will ring in at a $499 retail price when it hits retail shelves Oct. 24th, and is available for pre-order online now. It’s designed to help content creators produce content more quickly, easily and cost-effectively than using a smartphone or one of the company’s higher-end mirrorless ILCs.

The new entry price point for a Sony’s vlogging cam seats in the line below both the $700 ZV-1 and $750 ZV-E10 models.

The ZV-1F uses a Type-1 Exmor 20.1-megapixel sensor (like the ZV-1) along with a feature package designed to simplify capturing and posting vlog productions quickly and easily.

Despite the more affordable price point, the Sony ZV-1F has many of the features of the current ZV-1 model. It substitutes the ZV-1’s 24-70mm zoom lens for a wide-angle, 20mm equivalent prime lens, that will help some creators frame selfies more easily.
