Sony Announces Prices On X90J, X80J 4K LED-LCD TV Series
Sony officially revealed pricing and availability for 2021 4K TV models in its X90J and X80J LED-LCD series.
The models in question include the 65-, 55-, and 50-ing X90J and the 50- and 43- X80J LED-LCD TVs.
We’ve included a brief overview of key features in each series, and pricing below. All are available for pre-order now in advance of shipping in early summer:
Sony X90J Series (Pictured at top)
The Sony X90J series TVs are 4K/120Hz Full Array LED LCD TV models that incorporate Sony’s new Cognitive Intelligence Processor XR with XR Contrast Booster 5 backlight system, Acoustic Multi-Audio and the Google TV user interface. The series’ XR Motion Clarity technology uses cross-analysis data to ensure action stays smooth, bright and clear with no blur. The series also includes a minimalist bezel design Ambient Optimization technology with a light sensor that automatically adjusts picture and sound to viewers’ environment.
Other features include: a built-in NextGent TV ATSC 3.0/1.0 over-the-air tuner, built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, support for content sharing and screen mirroring with Apple AirPlay 2, built-in Chromecast for sharing content from a smart device; voice control; Vewd web browser avaiable through the Google Playstore; four HDMI inputs, 2 of which are newer HDMI 2.1 compliant with support for advanced gaming features including 4K/120fps, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and e-ARC; and two USB ports for multimedia peripherals. Models are expected to begin shipping in July.
Sony X80J Series
The company announced pricing on two models in the 4K/HDR Google TV model series. Both models are edge-lit 4K LED-LCD TVs that include an X1 4K HDR Processor to reduce digital noise and boost details for lifelike picture quality. Google TV gives you access to all your favorite streaming apps, while Google Assistant easily searches for content and controls your smart home simply by using your voice. Also offered is Motionflow XR motion smoothing of fast moving objects, 4K X-Reality Pro upscaling using a 4K database of image information to replicate as close as possible the look of native 4K resolution with minimal artifacts and image noise. The sets include 4 HDMI 2.0b inputs; ATSC 1.0 tuners. Models are expected to begin shipping in July.
