
Sling TV revealed Monday that its live and on-demand Internet TV service is now available on Gen-4 Apple TV set-top digital media streamers.
The provider of live over-the-top streaming services also revealed that it has added select Viacom channels to its expanding service lineup.
Sling TV said fourth-generation Apple TV owners can now download the Sling TV app from the App Store to receive the live and on-demand streaming services.
Roger Lynch, Sling TV CEO, called Apple TV the service’s most-requested platform. On the new platform, Sling TV will pick up control with the Siri Remote enabling Sling TV’s new user interface (UI) to take on the slick and speedy use that is characteristic of Apple platforms.

Sling TV will provide Apple TV owners with the live and on-demand content, including some of the most popular sporting events, breaking news, TV series, movies and other fare, starting at $20 per month.
Under an introductory deal, new Sling TV customers will have the option to purchase a 32GB Apple TV for $89 when they pre-pay for three months of Sling TV’s single-stream service or beta multi-stream service.
In addition, Sling TV said it has developed a new content-centric UI for Apple TV that features a more customizable and personalized viewing experience. It also improves content discovery from among the thousands of hours of programming available on Sling TV.

In the first phase of the new UI roll-out, Sling TV customers will receive a personalization feature called “My TV,” which allows customers to select their favorite channels, resume watching where they left off on select programs and set favorite shows and movies for easy, one-click access.
Meanwhile, Sling TV said it also launched 12 Viacom channels across its beta multi-stream and single-stream services, including: Comedy Central, BET, Spike, MTV, Nick Jr., NickToons, TeenNick, MTV, Spike, MTV2, Logo, CMT, TV Land and VH1.
Sling TV also introduced its new “Comedy Plus Extra” package and rebranded its “Lifestyle Extra” as “Lifestyle Plus Extra,” each priced at $5 per month.
Sling TV’s $20 per month Best of Live TV single-stream service now features Comedy Central as part of its core package. Other Viacom networks are available across Sling TV’s single-stream Extra packs, which each run $5 more per month. They include:
• “Kids Extra” includes Nick Jr., NickToons, TeenNick, Disney Jr., Disney XD, Boomerang, Baby TV and Duck TV.
• “Comedy Plus Extra” debuts with MTV, Spike, MTV2, Logo, CMT, TV Land and truTV.
• “Lifestyle Plus Extra” (formerly Lifestyle Extra) includes VH1, BET, Cooking Channel, DIY, FYI, WE TV and Lifetime Movie Network.
• All other Extras for the single-stream service remain unchanged and are $5 per month with a Best of Live TV single-stream service subscription.
Meanwhile, Sling TV’s Best of Live TV beta multi-stream service, offered at $20 per month, now includes Comedy Central, Nick Jr. and BET.
