Skyworth North America announced at the CES 2023 this month, its abbreviated plans for 4K UHD TV series and models earmarked for the United States and Canada.
The strategy this year seems to be searching for a mainstream market by stressing affordable value pricing for full Google TV smart functionality.
The company said that beginning in the late first quarter 2023 it will begin to transition in its 2023 model series. This will include three 4K UHD model series, all of which will be LCD-based as the Skyworth NA takes a “temporary hiatus” from offering OLED models here this year, the company told HD Guru.
This year, all model series will be transitioning from the Android TV 10 OS last year to the full Google TV/Android OS 11 user interface and operating system that will offer a more responsive, streamlined and content-rich app library and smart TV features.
All series will also be driven by powerful quad core processors with advanced picture and sound processing capabilities, the company said.
Skyworth’s NA regional flagship TV will be the recently announced 65- and 75-inch S1 “Clarus Series” of outdoor 4K full-array Mini-LED backlit LCD TVs (60Hz native refresh rate). These models will run the latest Google TV/Android OS 11 user interface and operating system, and will provide hands-free control operation. Pricing to be announced later.
The set is said to be capable of up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness with wide viewing angles for full sun viewing applications from 1,400 Mini-LEDs. This is said to produce near-OLED-like contrast and black level performance with high brightness using AIoT picture processing technology.
The Clarus models will automatically adjust brightness and color temperature levels to changing sunlight levels through the use of multiple sensors. The set’s processing systems ensures that displayed content is as accurate as possible. The Clarus will include support for both the Dolby Vision and HDR10 high dynamic range profile standards.
Audio is delivered via an 8-speaker 100-Watt system. The TV is capable of Dolby Atmos sound stage expansion for immersive surround sound.

For in-home models, the company will offer the UD7300 (pictured at top) step-up series, with 4K UHD 60Hz native refresh rate direct-lit LCD panels with 330 nits of peak brightness. The series will offer Skyworth’s “bezel-less” screen design and the Google TV smart operating system.
The UD7300 series screen sizes will include: 50-, 55- and 65-inches. All models will include a new Bluetooth remote optimized for the Google TV User Interface. The smaller sized hand unit will feature fast access buttons to the Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube Apps. It will also include a built-in mic for voice control and app navigation.
The line will support high dynamic range (HDR) through the HDR10 and HLG profiles.
The on-board 10-Watt down-firing 2-channel speaker system will be supported by Dolby and DTS decoding.
Inputs will include 3 HDMI 2.0 ports supporting standard Audio Return Channel (ARC) throughput.
Skyworth will also introduce at the end of the first quarter, a 75-inch 4K UHD direct-lit LCD model in the UD6300 series. This 4K UHD Google TV will also have a 60Hz native refresh rate LCD panel and will include Skyworth’s “Ultra-Slim Bezel” design.
