New 2017 Sharp TVs from manufacturer Hisense USA are now available at select retail stores across the country, including Abt.

The line, which was first introduced at CES 17, offers a combination of advanced picture quality and value price points – a theme, which carries throughout the assortment, including the new P7000 and P8000 lines, with 4K Ultra HD HDR capability.

The company did not mention the shipping or availability schedule for its P9500 or P9000 4K Ultra HD QLED TV lines, which were also announced in January and are to add advanced quantum dot technology for wide color and HDR enhancement.

Sharp P8000 Series – 4K Ultra HD Smart Aquos TV

The Sharp P8000 series offers direct array LED back lighting (number of zones was not disclosed), which should help the set’s ability to produce fine detail even in very dark and very bright areas of the picture. The local dimming system enables control of individual LED zones, enabling the brightness levels to be adjusted in accordance with the image, so that light can be completely shut off in dark areas to produce truly deep blacks that help to generate the widest contrast ratios. The line supports HDR10 metadata and has 60 Hz native refresh rate panels enhanced with Motion 120 motion processing.
