Amazon announced in a blog posting this week that a new AI-based “Dialogue Boost” feature is now available on a handful of original titles offered through its Prime Video streaming platform.

The company said it intends to expand the capability to additional titles through out the year.

The new Dialogue Boost feature enables viewers of supported movies and TV series titles to select a boost setting of Medium or High during playback to tune in the right amount of clarity and loudness that best elevates voices so viewers can hear and comprehend what’s going on in the program

To engage the settings, users simply need to pause the program and select the boost level that’s right for their hearing and comprehension within their particular viewing space/conditions.

“While Dialogue Boost was built with the needs of customers who are hard of hearing in mind, anyone can use the feature to suit their personal listening preferences,” Amazon said.
