Samsung revealed prior to CES 2016 that it plans to show this week a soundbar equipped to handle the new Dolby Atmos surround sound format.
Samsung’s HW-K950 soundbar, which has a chassis that measures only 2.1 inches tall, will be equipped with three forward-facing front-channel drivers in its main chassis as well as two upward-firing Atmos height drivers that reflect sound off the ceiling to deliver height channels, the company said.
More on Samsung’s Atmos Soundbar after the jump:
The system includes a wireless subwoofer and a pair of wireless surround speakers that also incorporate upward-firing drivers, enabling the system to deliver a 5.1.4-channel Atmos soundfield.
The soundbar mark Samsung’s flagship of the soundbar line. Pricing and availability will be announced later.

Samsung is also showing a range of new Radiant360 speakers in a variety of new colors and patterns to complement the décor of any room to more easily integrate into the whole home. The speakers use proprietary Ring Radiator technology so they can be placed anywhere and still fill the room with well-balanced sound.
Samsung is also providing greater control of the speakers using new apps for the Gear S2 and Gear S smartwatches, and an improved Samsung Multiroom App for smartphones and tablets. The Radiant360 Series also offers new smart home functionality, including audible notifications and home cinema settings.
