“People are looking for more versatile technology that fits into their day-to-day – that’s one of the reasons that portable projector purchases are on the rise,” stated James Fishler, Samsung Electronics America Home Entertainment & Display Division senior VP. “The Freestyle is one-of-a-kind in the market because it offers instant access to the same streaming entertainment apps that you enjoy on your Samsung TV. Plus, setup is simple so you can easily project your favorite shows – and now even stream thousands of popular games – in high definition on the big screen anywhere, whether that’s right at home, or if you’re like me, on weekend camping trips.”

To get started, users need only sync a favorite Bluetooth controller, setup The Freestyle, point, and play, Samsung said.

The unit will support many popular entertainment apps including Spotify, YouTube, and Twitch. The projector can be used to listen to favorite music while playing a video game, or to quickly tune into tips from a favorite YouTube content creator.

Samsung Gaming Hub brings video games and services together in one easy-to-use platform, the company said. The smart TV experience is powered by Samsung’s own Tizen OS and includes access to free TV from the Samsung TV Plus portal — a Samsung ad-supported TV and video-on-demand service, with free access to over 250 live TV channels and thousands of on-demand shows and movies in the U.S. and over 2,000 channels globally across 24 countries.

The Freestyle portable projector weighs less than two pounds and projects screen sizes ranging from 30 to 100 inches with brightness, clarity and full color in Full High Definition (Full HD 1080p) resolution.

The unit includes a cradle stand that can tilt 180 degrees for floor-to-ceiling viewing flexibility, and produces a 360-degree sound experience.

When used outdoors or on the go, the Freestyle projector can be powered off of a portable battery without the need of a power outlet.
