Samsung, Netflix, Reynolds Launch QLED Cross Promo
Tis the season for quid pro quos: Samsung, Netflix and actor Ryan Reynolds have teamed up to cross-promote the new upcoming Netflix original movie 6 Underground with 2019 Samsung QLED TVs and Reynolds’ Aviation Gin brand.
Samsung said Thursday it is working in cooperation with Netflix and Reynolds on the comical promotional video that Samsung said promises “to deliver bigger and better viewing experiences to fans.” 6 Underground will start streaming on Netflix December 13.
The partners’ promotional video ostensibly supports 6 Underground but also hypes Samsung QLED TVs and Reynold’s own booze sideline. The tongue-in-cheek effort is described as “a funny ad-within-an-ad-within-an-ad that reminds fans that the best way to watch the biggest movie premieres like 6 Underground is at home on super big Samsung QLED TVs…and with Aviation Gin.”
