Samsung and LG once again are among the biggest winners of the Consumer Technology Association’s Innovations Awards for 2023, it was announced by the Consumer Technology Association this week.

Each of the two giant South Korean consumer technology companies received dozens of the awards recognizing innovative designs and features for products ranging from TVs to major appliances. These will be coming to each company’s 2023 product assortments and will be all on display at CES 2023 January 3-8 in Las Vegas.

During a “CES Unveiled” Media Event Wednesday in New York, Samsung announced it had received 46 CES 2023 Innovation Awards from the CTA, while LG announced receiving 28 of the honors.

Each of the individual products getting the awards will be present during of just before the CES 2023 showcase in the weeks ahead, but both companies teased some of areas these products will cover.

In addition to TVs to be named later, Samsung’s 2023 Innovation Award winners are new mobile devices, wearable tech products and PC/IT related products.

Some of the highlights included the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 Bespoke Edition mobile phones featuring foldable screens innovative camera upgrades, a larger battery and even more opportunities for customization than its predecessor. Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Flip4 Bespoke Edition were recognized in the Digital Imaging/Photography and Mobile Devices & Accessories categories, the company said.

The Z Flip4’s form factor enables unique camera functionality like FlexCam that allows you to shoot hands-free photos and videos directly on your favorite social networking apps. In wearables, both the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro smart watch models were recognized in the Digital Health and Wearable Technology categories for advanced health tracking, increased durability and charging capabilities. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro is designed for adventure and a heavy-duty lifestyle with upgraded GPS-based features, the longest battery in a Galaxy Watch and expansive Super AMOLED display protected by an enhanced Sapphire Crystal. With the groundbreaking BioActive Sensor, the Galaxy Watch5 series empower users with the most complete picture of their health-related insights yet.

The Samsung Wallet all-in-one, go-everywhere app received an Innovations Award for the Software & Mobile Apps category. This combines Samsung Pass, Samsung Pay and more to give users new and easier ways to keep all their digital essentials in one place, including bank cards and digital keys, travel passes, driver’s licenses and student IDs. This integrates Samsung technologies platforms including SmartThings and Samsung Knox to provide a secure and refined interface and one-swipe access to important digital items and information.

In major appliances, Samsung’s Bespoke AI Laundry products were recognized for design and integrated AI technologies. The Bespoke AI Washer with AI OptiWash was honored in the Smart Home category, and the Bespoke AI Dryer with AI Optimal Dry was recognized in the Home Appliance category. Bespoke AI Washer automatically identifies fabric types and dirt levels, optimizing its performance accordingly while cycles can be controlled with Samsung’s SmartThings app. Bespoke AI Dryer uses sensors and algorithms to measure the moisture content of clothes, adjusting drying time and temperature to seamlessly optimize drying cycles, the company said.

The Bespoke AI Laundry pair responds to frequent washing habits for a personalized experiences, and offer a range of color choices.

Other Samsung winners will be announced later by the company and on the CTA’s CES.tech web site.

LG’s Innovation Awards were similarly varied and useful lifestyle solutions products for the home, office and other locations.

The list of exact products receiving the honors will be unveiled in Las Vegas at CES 2023 in January, but the company teased that it received awards in the categories of video displays, gaming and computer peripherals, including 10 of its latest OLED TV products.

This marked the 11th consecutive year that the company’s self-lit TVs have received CES Innovation Awards.

The 88-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K TV was recognized in three categories, while inspiring ultra-large 97-inch OLED and LG OLED Flex, a groundbreaking TV boasting the world’s first bendable 42-inch OLED screen, were double honorees.

LG home appliances named CES 2023 Innovation Award winners include the LG PuriCare Aero Furniture, a new concept in air purification. Also honored is the premium LG CordZero All-in-One Tower with Steam Mop.

Among other winning products are the LG WashTower Compact, LG UltraGear OLED gaming monitor and LG XBOOM 360 bluetooth speaker system.
