Samsung Is Now Providing 4K IMAX Content to Its Ultra HDTV Customers
One of the biggest issues with the new 4K Ultra HDTVs today is the lack of content. While high definition has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 4K content has 4 times the pixels (3840 x 2160) for razor sharp images.
Today, Samsung announced it is providing free IMAX 4K content to buyers if its 4K Ultra HDTVs , now exteneded through December 28, 2013 March 31,2014 or while supplies last. In addition, Samsung is currently running a $500 instant rebate on its 55 and 65-inch UHDTVs. All the details after the break.
The new prices after the $500 instant rebate are $3497.99 for the UN55F9000 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD 120Hz 3D Smart LED TV . This price cut represents 46% off the msrp. The 65-inch is now $4997.99 for the Samsung UN65F9000 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD 120Hz 3D Smart LED TV a 41% reduction of the TVs msrp. Samsung does honor this and the hard drive is awesome. Got mine this week and we watched “The last reef” just last night. awesome to see what this TV is capable of. I have been to plenty IMAX theaters, and no this is not IMAX….. it’s better! Flat out better! Trust that!
since purchase and online registration of UN65F900 4K TV, I received nothing. I called Samsung and got transfered to many different departments (sales, customer relations, etc), but no one knew about it. An agent from sales promissed to call back, but never did. Local distrubutors, Best Buy, Paul’s TV, East Coast TV know about the 4K content and one of them provided me with web site http://4KMovies.samsungrebate.com, but site would not work then and Samsung agent knew nothing about it then. As I was typing this, I decided to try above site and it worked. It even gave me reference number. Let us see if 4K content will be sent out. Qualifying buyers may want to try using this web page. Good luck!
The website is back up and running as you stated. The program has been extended. If for some reason you do not receive the HDD a few weeks after you registered, please contact Samsung at 1-800-Samsung. If still no luck, email me at [email protected] with the details and I will take your case to a Samsung executive.
They now have a new supply of 4K content loaded HDDs and are fulfilling the orders, as told to me today by a spokesperson.

it actually is ture. The samsung rep on the phone knew nothing about it. The samsung rep at best buy gave me all the info to go online to the correct website and sign up for the HDD. the $500 off thing I’m guessing is done as the price was $3000 as of 11/19.
Samsung claims this report is untrue….as of Nov. 13,2013.
It should be noted that the content is not IMAX content, but was filmed with IMAX cameras and shown in IMAX theaters. It’s not TRUE IMAX files though. Samsung had to backtrack on that a little.
