Samsung said Monday that its model HW-K950 Dolby Atmos sound bar, which was an HD Guru Best of CES winner in January, is now available for pre-order.

The HW-K950 is billed as the industry’s first Dolby Atmos sound bar package to include two wireless rear speakers.

Samsung said the HW-K950 (with wireless rear channel speakers) and HW-K850 Dolby Atmos (without rear channel speakers) sound bars will be available in the U.S. for $1,499 and $999 respectively, later this summer.

The HW-K950 measures 2.1-inches high, and uses three forward-facing and two upwards-facing speakers for a full surround sound effect. Both sound bars also connect wirelessly to the subwoofer and rear speakers. Height channels use upward firing drivers that reflect sound off of the ceiling to give the illusion that an object is moving all around the audience.

The sound bars were developed at Samsung’s Audio Lab in Valencia, California in an effort to create the most immersive audio experience available through a sound bar solution.
