Polk Audio Launches Signa S4 Atmos Soundbar Package
Polk Audio introduced Wednesday its first Dolby Atmos soundbar system, the Signa S4, featuring a powerul 3D surround sound experience at a value price point.
The Polk Signa S4 is equipped with seven drivers, including two upward-firing speakers, and when paired with the included wireless subwoofer, the system produces what the company calls “a thunderous, crystal clear, cinematic surround sound experience.”
The Polk Audio Signa S4 Dolby Atmos soundbar system comes is available now, direct from PolkAudio.com or through authorized Polk resellers for $399 suggested retail price.
“The Polk Signa S4 sound bar delivers superb Dolby Atmos surround sound that enhances everything from movie special effects to music ambiance to games.” stated Frank Sterns, Polk Audio president. “Whether you’re getting a soundbar for the first time, or looking to upgrade to Dolby Atmos, the Signa S4 delivers on Polk’s promise of exceptional sound quality coupled with great value.”
The Signa S4’s two upward-firing speakers output Dolby Atmos height channels to create lifelike overhead and expansive sounding Dolby Atmos music or gaming. The Signa S4 can also up-mix non-Atmos content to the height, surround and center channels to create a virtual Atmos experience.
Polk said the wireless subwoofer was designed to present deep effortless bass. It conneccts to the soundbar automatically on start up and can be placed almost anywhere within 33 feet of the soundbar. A Bass Adjust feature controls low frequency output on both the sound bar and subwoofer, generating an optimized blend and maximum impact at any level.
Users can customize the sound experience using the Polk VoiceAdjust and Bass Adjust technologies. One-button access is provided for presets that have been fine tuned for movie or music listening.
The Polk Signa S4 includes a Night Mode that automatically attenuates bass output and accentuates dialog clarity to keep from disturbing sleeping neighbors or family members while watching late-night television programs.
The Signa S4 was designed for easy set up and use. A simple singular connection via an included HDMI or optical cable (or aux-in for older TVs) enables the soundbar to deliver the sound from the latest telelvision, all the way up to today’s 8K Ultra-HD TV models.
The soundbar supports the new HDMI eARC (or standard ARC) system to pass through eight channels of uncompressed audio. For added convenience, the Signa S4 is pre-programmed to work with most TV remotes, and easily pairs with mobile devices via Bluetooth to access streaming.
The low-profile design of the Signa S4 is suitable for any décor, and it can be wall-mounted for a sleek appearance.
