Custom home theater speaker manufacturer Origin Acoustics is using CEDIA Expo this week to introduce its new “Boundaryless Listening Experience with Natural Depth Sound (BLENDS)” invisible speakers.
The new design-centric in-wall concept, which is being unveiled at the show in Denver, involves speakers that blend into any environment while enhancing lifestyle and entertainment experiences, Origin said. The first of the new products are scheduled to ship in the second quarter of 2024.
The BLENDS line was co-developed with U.K.-based invisible speaker resource Amina Technologies to produce flexible, easy-to-install, and full-sounding invisible speakers for the custom integration market.
The products are said to incorporate Origin Acoustics’ efficient installation approaches with Amina’s high-performance EDGE series sound centered around Distributed Mode Listening (DML) technology. This is known for delivering room-filling high-clarity, the companies said.
The BLENDS invisible speaker line will be the first 60-minute UL fire-rated products available in both 70V and 8ohm for demanding commercial and residential installs. They also feature perfectly sized magnetic shims that attach to standard rear enclosures.

The BLENDS series includes two models — the Edge 8STS and the Edge 10STS — that feature larger tapered edge panels that install direct-to-stud ready for prefilling, taping and filling, which is unlike Amina’s prior free-floating, fully skimmed over products. Amina said its own NA team will continue to promote those concepts for the very high end residential and commercial markets here.
The Amina ALF100SM easy-to-install direct-to-stud mounted in-wall subwoofer complements EDGE speakers with deep, room-filling bass while blending seamlessly into any home’s interior design with concealed ports that allow for discrete installations. Additionally, the BLENDS series will include the brand-new Amina EDGEi/S200 product for applications that won’t allow a screw-to-stud installation.
