Nikon continues to expand its stable of 4K Ultra HD-capable cameras at a rapid pace, with the introduction Tuesday of its first DL series Coolpix advanced point-and-shoot cameras.
The new models include the Nikon DL24-55, which carries a $650 suggested retail; the DL18-50, which rings in at $800; and the DL24-500 (pictured at top), which is priced at $1,000. All three will be available in early summer.
The models follow Nikon’s announcement at CES 2016 last month of the flagship D5 and D500 DSLRs, which were the company’s first to add 4K UHD recording capability. The Nikon D500 was HD Guru’s Best 4K DSLR winner for CES.
All three of the new DL models are equipped with 1-inch 20.8-megapixel back side illuminated CMOS image sensors, and will capture video at up to 4K Ultra HD (3840×2160) 30p.
The model names reflect the full-frame equivalent focal length of each of the lenses.
