Netflix formally began offering video games today as part of its mobile app streaming service, starting on Android mobile devices, to be followed shortly by iOS, as part of its expanding service offering.

Unfortunately, gaming is not yet in the plan for the TV app.

As of today, Netflix Android mobile app users will be able to access six titles. These include: Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, and Teeter Up. These can be found under a dedicated games tab on the Netflix mobile app upon logging into an unrestricted user profile.

Games will be playable live online while some will support offline play, as well.

The company said “members on an Android mobile phone will see a dedicated games row and games tab where you can select any game to download. Members on an Android tablet will see a dedicated games row or be able to select games from the categories drop down menu to download and play.”

Netflix is not providing access to games to users logging in under kids profiles. “If you’ve set up a PIN to prevent kids from having access to adult profiles, that same PIN will be required in order to log in to Netflix and play the game on a device,” the company said.
