Hard core PC gamers may be interested in the launch of what PC gaming resource MSI is calling its first 1000R AI Gaming Monitor, which makes its debut under the brand’s new MPG Artymis Series.
The 34-inch curved screen MSI MPG Artymis Series 343CQR ($899.99 suggested retail price) is a 1000R curvature monitor designed for immersive lean-forward desktop gaming experiences offering what MSI called the “perfect curve for gamers who like to sit about 1 meter/3 feet from their display.”
The company said the 1000R curvature of the ultra-wide (21:9 aspect ratio) screen matches the natural vision of the human eye, providing less eye strain, faster reaction times and an appealing appearance.

The MSI MPG Artymis 343CQR includes “exclusive AI features.” It is a 3440 x 1440 LCD monitor with a 1ms response time, and a VESA DisplayHDR HDR400 rating (including 400 nits peak brightness) enabling full utilization of FreeSync and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 Series graphics card capabilities, the company said.
The monitor’s refresh rate is listed at 165Hz, with almost no delay and very smooth motion presentation. The VA-type LCD panel is low blue-light emission certified (TUV), and offers a 178-degree viewing angle.
MSI said the new “ARTYMIS Series” name is derived from Ἄρτεμις, in Greek mythology. Also known as Luna (Goddess of the New Moon) and the Goddess of Hunting, this majestic and dignified goddess is often depicted carrying a silver bow and riding a silver cart pulled by a deer with golden antlers.
The monitor features MSI’s patented OptixScope design as a built-in aiming magnifier feature providing eight-stage zooming and programmable shortcut keys to quickly switch magnification. OptixScope automatically reduces mouse DPI at higher magnification.
The company said “the screen can maintain operation so that any weapon can become a sniper rifle and accurately hit enemies from a distance.”
Other key features include a Gaming On Screen Display (OSD) app that allows controlling the monitor display under a software window. Display settings can be customized for different software in the app and it will automatically apply presets. The Gaming OSD app supports in-game hotkeys to adjust display settings at a moments notice.
The Artymis series includes a built-in noise reduction microphone to eliminate noise through AI calculations, while improving sound quality for clearer communication between teammates.
An MSI Console Mode in the MPG Artymis 343CQR natively supports next-gen consoles, by automatically accepting 4K signals on a QHD monitor and HDR simultaneously.
MSI said this delivers “the best experience to gamers looking to enjoy both PC and console games from the same display.”
Night Vision AI enables better visibility in dark sectors of the screen, whether the entire screen is dark, or just a few portions have heavy shadows.
MSI said “the world’s first smart black tuner” is designed to bring out fine details in dark shadows for faster reaction. Users can adjust the details of the dark areas and maintain the details of the bright areas through AI calculation, to brighten the picture without over exposure.
Inputs including two HDMI 2.0 ports and 1 DisplayPort 1.4, 2 x USB 3.2 G1 (Type A), and 1 x USB 3.2 G1 (Type B, PC to MNT).
