Shenzhen, China-based gimbal developer Moza introduced Monday a 3-axis 4K action-style camera called the Moin Camera.
The Moza Moin Camera is said to combine high-end advanced smooth motion film production functionality in a compact, affordable camera. It carries a $299 suggested retail price and is available now from the company’s website.
The Moin Camera features a 2.45-inch touch-screen integrated into the camera’s unusual body/handle and is equipped with a 120-degree field of view fixed lens offering the ability to take advanced selfies and establishing shots of vast landscapes, the company said.
The built-in 14mm F2.2 (120-degree) lens is attached to a three-axis gimbal.
The camera is also said to incorporate high-quality stereo microphones offering “advanced pick-up performance,” with “intelligent noise reduction, uncolored sound and high fidelity audio.”
Other features include an integrated image processor, and “Deep Red” anti-shake motor control algorithm.
“Even while filming on the move, the Moin Camera produces ultra-smooth footage because of professional cinema industry technology such as 3-axis stabilization,” the company said.

Other features include a 1/2.3-inch sensor, which the company said can produce high-quality images with low noise.
The camera will capture up to 12 megapixel still photos, and up to 4K/60fps video. It is also capable of 8x slow motion image capture with HD (1280 x 720 pixel) resolution. The camera specs list shutter speeds between 60 seconds and 1/8000th of a second, and the ISO range runs, 100–3200.
To simplify action recording on the go, the camera offers Face Tracking, First Person View (FPV), Panorama, and Time-Lapse modes.
To make carrying and using the camera even easier, the weight has been reduced to just 6.2 ounces (176g), which the company points out is less than a full-sized chocolate bar.
The camera’s internal battery offers 145 minutes of operation per change, and can be fully charged in 90 min.
For storage and uploading convenience, the Moin Camera enables downloading video clips to a smartphone. Users can edit images on the go using the Moza Artist App. This is said to enable adding filters, effects, music, and other enhancements to edited productions.
The camera is said to use Intelligent Silent Transfer to speed up transfer time between the smartphone and the stored media, and the app can be set to automatically import files stored on the Moin Camera. Gimbal and smartphone will remain connected via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi while the files are transferred.
Moza said the camera is perfect for making travel vlogs, recording family events, concerts, active sports, weddings and outdoor activities.
