Legendary high-end audio brand McIntosh revealed this week that it has partnered with precision U.S. solid wood cabinet maker Symbol Audio to produce audio equipment cabinets for passionate McIntosh owners needing to surround their vaunted audio gear in elegant American craftsmanship.
McIntosh said the cabinets and racks have been created to perfectly fit its audio equipment, in a way that brings out the McIntosh aura, right down to highlighting the iconic illuminated McIntosh logo. The company said these furnishings have been carefully crafted to preserve the look and performance of its advanced audio electronics.
Among the details embodied in this cabinetry are the following:
- Integrated casters for smooth, easy mobility and access to wiring;
- Vibration isolated adjustable shelves made of solid wood to provide a firm foundation with vibration damping using 6mm stainless steel pins to easily accommodate shelf height adjustments based on a standard 32mm system;
- Cable management using solid wood tie bars on either side of the back to allow for separation of signal and power cables.
- Illuminated glass front plates enabling McIntosh Power Control while revealing the aforementioned McIntosh logo, offset by silver trim.
Easily accessible leveling feet can be adjusted from both the top and bottom to assure perfectly level equipment placement, according to McIntosh.
A range of available cabinet sizes are offered to accommodate both two-channel home Hi-Fi and multi-channel home theater setups. The cabinets are available in three premium finishes to best match the décor and colors the listening environment: Jet Black on Ash, Natural Walnut, and Wenge on Walnut.
