Marantz has added three powerful network audio/video receivers to its SR series, including models equipped to handle the latest 3D audio formats: Dolby Atmos, Auro 3D, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X.
Models and pricing include the Marantz SR7013 ($2,199 suggested retail), SR6013 ($1,499) and the SR5013 ($999). The Marantz SR7013 will be available in September, while the other two are hitting authorized dealers now.
The new entries are highlighted by the Marantz SR7013, which is a 9.2-channel model offering five channels for typical surround speaker alignments with four dedicated height channels for immersive over-head object-based audio performance.
Other features offered in the units include Amazon Alexa voice control and Apple Airplay 2 (the latter coming in a late summer firmware update).
Features in the SR7013 include: high-current discrete power amplifiers for 125 watts of power per channel (8 Ohm, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, 0.05% THD, 2 channel driven); proprietary Hyper Dynamic Amplification Module (HDAM) circuitry for optimal fidelity and maximum dynamic range of high-resolution files; decodning of 24-bit/192-kHz ALAC, FLAC and WAV lossless files as well as DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz tracks.
For custom installations, the Marantz SR7013 works with ihiji Invision remote system management and Domotz Pro remote monitoring and management technology.
Connections include eight HDMI/HDCP 2.2 inputs (one in front) and three outputs, all with HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG HDR support. These include two HDMI 2.1 features via a future firmware update for eARC and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM).
eARC will enable greater return channel bandwidth to support among other things the transmission of object-based audio from TV applications. The ALLM feature will automatically switch the AVR to low latency mode when connected to an Xbox One and any TV model that also supports ALLM, for fast, responsive gaming.
Also supported are wireless connectivity options including: Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2 or the HEOS multi-room audio app bringing access to Spotify, Pandora, Sirius XM, TuneIn, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Deezer and other streaming service providers.
The Marantz SR7013 will also work with Alexa voice compatibility upon downloading the HEOS Home Entertainment Skill App. This will let users speak to Alexa to play, pause or stop music, switch inputs across different media players, adjust the volume and other tasks.

The SR7013 also supports Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automatic room acoustic correction. Audyssey MultEQ, Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ optimize the listening environment for the best sound.
