UPDATE! LG revealed its new and improved 4K Ultra HDTV OLED TV lineup, including the “wall paper-thin” W7P series (pictured at top), last month at CES 2017, but it didn’t mention prices. Thanks to officially released information we can now let you know what to expect to pay on all but the entry B7 series.
Eligible LG dealers around the country will begin taking preorders on the 2017 LG OLED models beginning February 26th with shipments to begin shortly thereafter.
Learn the OLED pricing and features after the break:
LG is expanding the OLED line from eight models in 2016 to 10 models in 2017, including the aforementioned flagship W7 Signature Series. The company is also growing its 4K LED LCD TV assortment to 20 models, including nine Super UHD TVs featuring new Nano Cell Technology. Pricing on those LED LCD models will be announced later.
For 2017’s OLED TV, all models will have 4K Ultra HD resolution and flat screens this year. Also, LG is dropping 3D support throughout the line. LG this year is boosting OLED brightness and peak luminance by 25 percent, nearing the 1,000 nit level achieved by high-performing LED LCD TVs.
The new models will also improve color gamut coverage to 99 percent of the DCI-P3 recommendations for professional digital cinemas. That’s up from 97 percent in 2016. All models will continue to have 10-bit panels.
The sets will support a wide variety of HDR formats including once again HDR10 and Dolby Vision, plus Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) and Technicolor.
In addition, on-board sound has been enhanced with support for Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound decoding, and in select models, playback over an included sound bar.
