LG Electronics continued to expand its lineup of diminutive DLP-based home theater projectors Wednesday with the introduction of the “LG ProBeam,” Full HD 1080p model, featuring a laser light engine capable of displaying up to 2,000 lumens of brightness and screen sizes stretching up to 120 inches.
The [amazon_textlink asin=’B06XHZN67F’ text=’LG ProBeam’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’hc005-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’0aecb2a5-4628-11e7-9cf4-a92710868456′] model HF80JA carries a $1,497 UPP price, features a slim, sleek upright design and weighs 4.6 pounds.
It is powered by an I-shaped laser engine, which is said to aid in the unit’s easy portability. The light engine uses blue laser diodes with a phosphor-coasted color wheel, instead of an RGB laser or a Laser/LED hybrid. To generate the three primary colors – red, blue, green – the blue light from the laser diode shines onto a spinning wheel that is coated in a phosphor compound.

To eliminate distortion, the ProBeam includes vertical auto keystone alignment that automatically detects and corrects any screen image distortion. For those requiring it, the ProBeam also offers manual keystone alignment for fine tuning adjustments.
