LG Electronics launched Tuesday its 2018 SK series soundbars and PK series portable speakers, which have advanced sound quality enhanced through collabortion with precision audio technology company Meridian.
The new series are said to have been developed for an immersive listening experience and to deliver “natural, high-quality sound in the home and on the go.”
The LG SK10Y, highlights LG’s next-generation of soundbar series built to maximize the audio/visual experience in the home cinema, while the PK7 Bluetooth speaker combines sound performance with a compact design and a multi-colored light show driven by various modes that can taken almost anywhere.
The 550W, 5.1.2 channel LG SK10Y soundbar features support for object-based multi-dimensional sound powered by Dolby Atmos without the need for a multi-channel surround speaker set up. The soundbar also support most major High Resolution Audio formats for a supperior muiscal experience.
Like a number of new products in the 2018 speaker lineup, the LG SK10Y has been tweaked and enhanced with Meridian Audio’s high-fidelity audio and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for more authentic sound using Meridian’s Bass and Space technology, Height Elevation technology and added speech and music clarity, LG said.

The SK10Y also includes Bluetooth and support for Chromecast technology to send streaming music from popular entertainment apps through a mobile device to the soundbar. Users can also tie in with an LG ThinQ speaker or any other Google Assistant product to execute voice commands on compatible smart products.
From a design standpoint, the SK10Y soundbar will match the width of a 65–inch class TV, but will also fit under a range of screen sizes without looking out of place. The SK10Y top LG’s 2018 sounbar range that also includes the following series: SK9Y, SK8Y, SK6Y and SK5Y.
Meanwhile,the LG PK7 Bluetooth speaker, which highlights the LG 2018 Bluetooth speaker lineup, is now shipping with mood-lighting capabilities and Meridian Audio technologies. It is designed to deliver highly portable sound with powerful sound, undistorted bass and clear vocals. These 2018 Bluetooth speaker line is compatible with the APT-X HD Bluetooth standard for hi-speed wireless streaming with accurate sound reproduction. The speakers are IPX5 compliant for splash-resistance when listening indoors or outdoors.
