LG Electronics USA highlighted at CES 2021 the LG CineBeam 4K UHD Dual-Laser Projector (model HU810P) with high brightness and streaming capability, while offering availability and pricing.
The LG HU810P, which was first introduced last fall, will be available starting the week of January 18th at a $2,999 suggested retail price.
The projector uses a dual red/blue laser light engine offering 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution at screen sizes of up to 300 inches. Peak brightness is listed as 2,700 ANSI lumens, and wide color gamut coverage is 97% of DCI-P3. Both HDR10 and HLG are supported and use LG’s dynamic tone mapping feature.
LG said the laser light source is expected life at full brightness is 20,000 and 30,000 hours in economic mode.
The LG CineBeam HU810P also includes built-in streaming via the webOS 5.0 smart TV platform, with the ability to access a huge library of movies and services, including the most popular streaming apps.
LG said the projector is a strong performer in both dark theater rooms and “typically lit living rooms.” It employs LG’s new Adaptive Picture Pro processing technology for optimized picture quality, and an Iris Mode presents two presets for Bright Room Mode and Dark Room Mode use. This is said to detect the amount of light in the room to deliver the best picture possible, with the result of a true movie theater experience in the home.
The projector’s Adaptive Contrast function automatically adjusts each frame to achieve the optimal contrast ratio in darker scenes.

The LG HU810P has a Real Cinema Mode and TruMotion Mode that adjusts the frame rate of the projected image to match the original source at 24Hz. LG said this preserved the creative intent of the filmmakers.
LG said the TruMotion system is especially well-suited for action movies, because it renders quick movements and fast scenes smoothly and naturally. The projector supports a variety of popular HDR formats, including HDR10 and HLG, as well as Dynamic Tone Mapping.
LG CineBeam 4K UHD Laser projector features HDIM 2.1 input supporting enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) with bandwidth for 10-bit color and losless and advanced surround sound audio formats. It also supports the WiSA wireless speaker standard for use with supporting home theater audio products for a wide range of speaker manufacturers.
For set-up flexibility, the projector offers 1.6X zoom and horizontal and vertical lens shift.
Other features include: Apple AirPlay 2 and Screen Share, giving viewers the ability to share content from smartphones and tablets at cinematic scale. LG also includes Auto Calibration II software, offering professional-level picture calibration.
