LG this week announced a new promotion offering owners of an LG LCD or OLED TV running webOS v. 5.0 or later, three free month’s of Google’s subscription gaming service, Stadia Pro.
The offer is good for LG TV owners in North America or Europe with a webOS TV dating from 2020 (webOS 5.0) or later. LG 2022 models run webOS 22 (this is the first year of a new version number system based on the year rather than the version’s numerical sequence).
The Stadia gaming app and service launched last year on LG TVs. The free trial offer will be available until Jan. 31, 2023. The Stadia store inside the app, will provide access to over 250 popular games to purchase, including Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Hitman 3, Baldur’s Gate 3 as well as access to a continually growing list of free games and demos, LG said.
“LG TV owners who claim their free Stadia Pro subscription gain instant access to more than fifty games, with new titles added every month and unique discounts on games and add-on content regularly offered,” according to the promotion announcement.

To get the Stadia Pro app and claim the free 3-months-free offer, LG TV owners will need to go into the app store on their compatible webOS LG TV. Owners of compatible LG sets will find the offer there, and can scan a QR Code to begin the redemption process on their phone, using their unique code.
The offer is available to new Stadia Pro subscribers only and will require entering a valid payment method at sign. Unless cancelled, the subscription will automatically renew at the end of 3-month introductory period.
LG TVs support Stadia game streaming in up to 4K HDR and 60fps frame rates. It also offers 5.1 surround sound.
There is no need of a dedicated gaming console or a game software download; However, a compatible controller, including a Stadia Controller, DualShock or Xbox controller will be required.
