LG Electronics (LG) late Thursday night introduced its latest premium CineBeam 4K DLP laser projector in the Ultra Short Throw (UST) model HU915QE.
The LG CineBeam HU915QE is the follow up to the LG HU715Q released earlier this year, and is positioned for “serious movie lovers,” the company said. It will be available at a price to be announced in the first half of 2022.
The projector is capable of casting a high quality 4K image measuring up to 90 inches when placed just 2.2 inches (5.6 cm) from the wall, or a 120-inch image with the projector placed 7.2 inches (18.3 cm) away.
This means big-screen home theater lovers no longer require a large dedicated space for a theater-like experience using the HU915QE.
Peak brightness from the three-channel laser light engine measures 3,700 ANSI lumens and the contrast ratio is listed at 2,000,000:1, according to LG.
The company added that the projector’s three-channel laser technology employs a separate light source for each primary (RGB) color. This results in vivid images even with some degree of ambient room light, compared to other conventional projectors using a single light source technology, the company said.
The LG CineBeam HU915QE is said to be an especially capable 4K HDR projection display, due to its HDR Dynamic Tone Mapping system that analyzes and adjusts image brightness frame by frame.

The platform also supports mirroring video content from a wireless mobile device, including support for Apple AirPlay2 and Bluetooth.
Sound is supported via a built-in 2.2-channel 40 Watt speaker system. In addition, users can expand the surround sound effect by connecting up to two additional LG Bluetooth speakers.
The CineBeam HU915QE projector features a stylish “Re-wool” cabinet design from renowned Danish textile company, Kvadrat. Made from 45% recycled wool, this material has become a favorite of design- and sustainability-conscious companies worldwide, used in products as diverse as furniture and premium audio solutions, LG said.
The cabinet offers a muted, natural color and clean design to effectively blend in with surrounding luxury interiors.
