DSP Concepts announced that LG’s new Ultra Gear Gaming Speaker GP9, is powered by its Audio Weaver platform to provide sound and voice solutions.
The company called LG’s GP9 “the first gaming speaker with built-in voice communication running Audio Weaver TalkTogether technology.”
As a result, the speaker provides full-duplex, clear communication even during loud, intense gameplay for a fully immersive gaming experience, according to DSP Concepts.
The LG UltraGear GP9 arrived in September at a $499.99 suggested retail price in the United States and is available now at a holiday savings of $103 for $396.99. Follow the link for the latest price.
“By partnering with DSP Concepts, LG has been able to dramatically accelerate the development process, bringing the GP9 to market in less than a year,” DSP Concepts said in a statement.
The speaker was developed to present “an alternative to always-on headsets while enabling two-way voice communication even against the backdrop of intense gameplay.”

The LG GP9 3D Gaming Sound technology incorporates a specially-designed head-related transfer function (HRTF) algorithm that optimizes the perception of spatial audio, DSP Concepts said. The speaker also features Game Genre Optimizer with two modes to customize game audio to match what the user is playing. In addition to the audio capabilities, the device features customizable RGB lighting that can display 16.8 million different colors, creating an even more immersive gaming experience.
