The perfect complement for a new advanced gaming TV is a high-performance gaming laptop that makes it easy to enjoy big gaming experiences.
As part of its pre-CES 2021 announcements, LG Electronics revealed Monday its first gaming laptop (model 17G90Q) coming soon to the company’s premium UltraGear lineup.
The CES Innovations Award winner features a sleek design and is said to be easy to tote to work and play. Designed as a competitive tool, the gaming laptop will come equipped with an 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake H processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card, dual-channel memory (16/32GB) and an ultra-fast dual NVMe SSD (up to 1 TB) setup.
Connections include: USB 4 Gen 3×2 Type C (x1, USB PD-out & TBT4), USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 Type C (x1, USB PD-out & DP), USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 (x2), HP-Out (4-Pole Headset, US type), HDMI port, RJ45, DC-In, and microSD/UFS.
It includes a 17-inch IPS LCD screen (1,920 x 1,080 300Hz) with 99% sRGB providing a 1 millisecond response time and a 300Hz refresh rate. LG said the laptop was designed to deliver a fluid, immersive playing experience even when running the most graphically demanding PC games. LG further protects the system with a capable cooling system featuring a vapor chamber to keep things humming.
Despite it’s large screen and 93Wh battery, the LG UltraGear 17G90Q offers lightweight convenience offering a thin build measuring less than 0.84 inches thick and weighing less than 5.952 pounds. The laptop features a rugged aluminum case sporting the winged UltraGear badge.

LG loads the unit with gaming software including the LG UltraGear Studio, which lets users customize gaming-related options and track a variety of performance data – including CPU clock, GPU TDP and clock, and memory share rate – in real-time.
LG also allows user customization, including applying different colors to every key of the RGB keyboard.
For sound, the LG UltraGear gaming laptop features a built-in 2-way speaker system that supports DTS:X Ultra 3D surround sound. The speakers accurately convey the directionality and location of sounds in the gaming environment, to skillfully help players find teammates and track down their enemies. The UltraGear 17G90Q comes with Intel Killer Wireless capability for fast, stable network connections that help to eliminate lag during competitive action.
“The LG UltraGear gaming laptop has everything needed to tackle the latest high-spec games, delivering the smooth, responsive gameplay that all gamers want,” said Seo Young-jae, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. “Our first-ever gaming laptop, the 17G90Q differentiates itself from competing products with its premium hardware, generous, high-quality screen, and a sleek, lightweight design that maximizes convenience and portability.”
Pricing and availability will be announced later.
