UPDATED: LG Electronics (LG) USA officially announced Tuesday its first LG Signature 4K wireless OLED TV series — the M3 — will be arriving in the U.S. later this month, including the flagship 97-inch model.
LG said the thin screen 4K displays, which made their debut at CES in January, all support up to 4K/120 Hz resolution via a wireless link to an external “Zero Connect Box”. The box and source components connected to it can then be placed up to a distance of 32 feet, 9 inches from the screen without the need of a physical connecting cable.
According LG USA, series pricing for the first-of-its-kind series is $4,999 for the 77-inch model, $7,999 for the 83-inch version and $29,999 for the 97-inch flagship.

The corporate parent in Korea said in a press statement last week that the Signature OLED M3 sets will be rolling out globally to key markets including North America and Europe.
“Drawing on LG’s technical and design prowess from a decade of OLED innovation, the 97M3 is set to reaffirm the company’s leadership in the ultra-large premium TV segment with the industry’s largest 97-inch OLED screen and the Zero Connect Box, the world’s first wireless solution capable of real-time video and audio transmission at 4K 120Hz,” the statement said.
The various models have a native refresh rate of 120Hz and the cube-shaped Zero Connect box carries three HDMI 2.1 inputs, along with connections for USB, LAN, wireless RF and Bluetooth.
“To ensure the seamless transmission of image and sound, the box identifies the optimal transmission path and has an adjustable antenna that can be positioned according to the screen’s location,” LG said.
LG said it uses a proprietary wireless AV transmission technology to transmit large amounts of data at up to three times the speed of the existing Wi-Fi 6E standard. Also included is support for Dolby Vision HDR dynamic metadata and Dolby Atmos object-based audio 3D surround sound.
As an LG Signature OLED the M3 uses the company’s Gallery Design cosmetic to create a framed-painting-like screen appearance and a seamless, flush-to-wall mount. The wireless technology enable eliminating the connecting cable but a power connection will still be required. However, the wireless transmission distance enables mounting the screen on a wall without the need for a table or cabinet underneath to carry connecting components.
“The technical feat of the 97M3 was made with LG’s decade-long commitment to creating new customer value as a market pioneer,” stated Baik Seon-pill, leader of the LG Home Entertainment Company’s Product Development Division. “As well as delivering the ultimate viewing experience on an ultra-large screen, our first-of-its-kind wireless LG Signature OLED M presents customers with a new level of freedom in arranging their living spaces.”
