The update, which is available now, is said to solve some initial software issues identified in the company’s UP2U user feedback community, adds new features and improves picture and sound performance on a number of levels.

The update includes:
- Enhanced High Dynamic Range (HDR) with improved gamma logic
- PS4 Pro HDR support
- Upgraded Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) feature support
- Simplified input selection to access TV input sources faster by holding down the source button on the LeEco remote
- 5.1 Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) channel support

- Google security patch update and improved overall system stability
According to a company blog, the HDR update will improve gamma logic to deliver a more vivid and realistic entertainment experience when viewing HDR content.
Also the Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) feature in the HDMI connections will now offer “a seamless experience that allows the LeEco remote to control CEC supported devices such as Apple TV (4th generation), Amazon Fire TV and others.”
The update also simplifies input selection to access TV input sources faster by holding down the source button on the LeEco remote, LeEco said. Close captioning also can now be activated easier by long-pressing the Settings button, instead of activating the feature through the menu system.
Another addition is an option to default to the home screen on the TV’s startup, while the LeZone layout has been enhanced to streamline content curation.
“Because security and usability is as important to us as it is to you, we implemented a security patch update and improved overall system stability,” the LeEco blog reads. “We also added 5.1 Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) channel support, and enhanced audio and video synchronization. Additionally, we added PS4 Pro HDR support.”
LeEco said it will continue to “add more features and improvements on a regular basis” as users continue to supply the company with feedback and suggestions through the UP2U program.
