Action camera company Insta360 is now offering its Insta360 ONE RS 4K interchangeable lens action camera that can transform with core and lens swapping for 360-degree capture.
Insta360 said the ONE RS action camera offers a weatherproof wide-angle lens, and Leica glass using a 1-inch image sensor. The camera is waterproof to a depth of 16 feet (5 meters).
The Insta360 follows up the Insta360 One R, and offers a 3-part modular design including, battery, processor and three interchangeable lenses.
By switching between lenses, the ONE RS can transform from a traditional action cam view into a 360-degree camera.
The high-performance action cam can transform between a 4K Edition, a Twin Edition, or a 1-Inch sensor Edition, using different lens and sensor combos. The 4K Boost Lens features can capture high-resolution wide-angle stills and videos.
The “Core module” powers processing for 360-degree video, with internal stabilization, and a wind-reduction algorithm, the company said.

The new 4K Boost Lens and the new Core are cross-compatible with the previous ONE R model, for purchasers who would like to upgrade.
The ONE RS can use the existing 5.7K 360 Lens and the 5.3K 1-inch Wide Angle lens co-developed with Leica and includes a 1-inch type image sensor.
The new 4K Boost Lens will capture 4K/60p video and 48MP still images on the go. The F2.4 lens has a 35mm equivalent focal length of 16mm.
The 4K Boost Lens has two modes — Active HDR and 6K Widescreen mode.
Active HDR mode improves dynamic range while eliminating ghosting, and stabilizes the image for action work. A 6K Widescreen Mode records 6K video in a 2.35:1 ratio.
The new ONE RS Core features a proprietary FlowState Stabilization system through hardware (6-axis gyroscope), so that stable images can be produced without the need to for the Insta360 app. With the Insta360 app, FlowState Stabilization is said to be capable of maintaining a level horizon even as the camera is rotated while shooting.
