Hisense introduced at CES 2023 this week an expanded lineup of 14 Mini-LED backlit quantum dot (QLED)-enhancd television models, highlighted by its new flagship ULED X (UX) series that will offer a 4K UHD 85-inch model with a claimed peak brightness levels measuring up to 2,500 nits.

The company also introduced several new Laser TV and Home Cinema laser projectors for 2023.

UX Mini-LED TV

Hisense said the 85-inch UX series Mini-LED TV will also have more than 20,000 Mini-LEDs across 5,000 full-array local dimming zones that produce extended local control of brightness levels while boosting the overall peak brightness levels from a maximum of 2,000 nits in last year’s U8H series, the company said.

In addition, the backlight control system in the UX uses a 16-bit light control algorithm that will help the series provide contrast and black level performance to rival OLED TVs on the market.

The “ULED X” moniker for the series denotes the television’s package of advanced picture and sound quality processing and performance attributes.

Other features in the Hisense 85-inch UXK include: Google TV smart TV OS, 4.1.2-channel multi-channel surround sound with eARC pass through, Dolby Atmos, and Wi-Fi 6E.

Other 2023 Hisense Mini-LED TV series include the U8K Series, U7K Series and U6K Series, which are driven by the company’s “ULED” package of processing and performance technologies. All of the announced models will run the Google TV smart TV OS.

The entry Mini-LED serices, called the U6K, will bring some of the best value prices seen in Mini-LED technology to date, with 4K Mini-LED TV model starting at under $500.
