Anyone living in the United Kingdom in need of an affordably priced 4K Ultra HDTV might want to grab one of the country’s first integrated Roku TV models from Hisense starting next week.
The first Roku TV models for the U.K. will hit retail stores offering the easy-to-use Roku OS platform including its huge selection of streaming apps and thousands of movies and television programs.
TVs with the integrated Roku OS have been some of the most popular televisions in the United States for the past five years, and via Hisense first, Roku has now opened the integrated platform to other countries outside of North America.
The OS, which has been available in the U.K. and Europe only via add-on Roku streaming media players before, was designed to offer consumers a premium HDTV experience at an affordable price with the Roku platform built-in, without the need to add-on another smart TV device.
The OS provides easy access to OTT apps and content right up front on a customizable home screen. Viewers will be able to search through thousands of streaming channels and programs for a desired program using voice commands. Other advanced features include universal search and private listening, the company said.
The 50-year-old China-based TV maker is releasing the B7120 series as its first Hisense Roku TV models for the UK market on Black Friday (Nov. 29th) at Argos. These first U.K. Roku TV offerings are 4K Ultra HD/HDR TV models — but Hisense U.S. executives told us these will be somewhat different from the product lines available or announced for the United States.

The U.K. versions, like their U.S. counterparts, will all offer the popular Roku smart TV experience and will be available in a range of screen sizes. The B7120 U.K. series includes the following: 43-, 50-, 55- and 65-inches.
The Roku Channel Store will provide a wide assortment of popular streaming services for the U.K. including Netflix, Prime Video and NOW TV, Roku said. Hisense Roku TVs also include Freeview Play, bringing live TV and on demand content from BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and My5.
Roku TV models are controlled with Roku’s simple and intuitive remote control or through the free Roku Mobile App for iOS and Android devices. The Roku mobile app also enables consumers to cast photos and videos to their Roku TV, use voice search and connect headphones for private listening.
