Hisense USA, which introduced the highly popular high-value H8C 4K LED LCD TV series last year, revealed today that select models from its 2017 H9D and H9D Plus 4K “ULED,” and H7D and H6D series of 4K Ultra HD Smart TVs are available now at authorized retailers around the country.

All of the models in the respective series hitting the market now will have 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution and will support high dynamic range (HDR) at varying quality levels determined by series. All 4K models will also have 10-bit panels, advanced 4K upscaling technology and will include a dbx-TV on-board surround sound system.

Hisense said the H7D and H6D models will start appearing in stores today, and the H9D and H9D Plus models will begin to arrive shortly thereafter.

Hisense uses three levels of motion handling performance across all of its 2017 TV lines. These various systems use combinations of 60Hz or 120Hz native refresh rate LCD panels, scanning back light technology, blinking back light technology and Motion Estimation Motion Compensation (MEMC) circuitry to achieve the appearance of motion clarity. The higher the associated number, the higher the motion smoothing effect is supposed to be. HD Guru has found that televisions with the highest Hertz number (120 Hz is maximum for 4K TVs) for native refresh rate LCD panels are typically the best, regardless of the accompanying motion processing system.

Most of the 2017 4K Ultra HD lineup includes 4 HDMI 2.0a/HDCP 2.2 inputs, USB 3.0 input, HEVC and VP9 profile 2 codec decoding and 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity.

Hisense does not specify the exact level of peak brightness or color gamut coverage for its models. However, HD Guru found last year’s H8C series models to offer an impressive boost in specular brightness highlights with richer color saturation and detail from supporting 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray movies and some streaming content.

Highlighting the H9D and H9D Plus lines is the use of the company’s wide color gamut and brightness-boosting Ultra LED “ULED” technology. These models offer edge-lit LED panels and a package of step-up features including local dimming, on-board dbx-tv audio technology, Opera TV smart TV operating system with an Opera web browser and a host of popular streaming service apps including: Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube, FandangoNow, VUDU, Pandora and others.

The H9D and H9D Plus series will differ primarily by use of motion handling capabilities.
