Fujifilm said the new 24.2 megapixel imaging sensor features 8.5 times more phase detetion pixels across its surface than previous sensors.

Digital noise has been reduced in the camera through the use of copper wiring, in addition the company said the design ensures images and video are processed quickly. The X-A7 offers enhanced data readout speed which enables a smooth frame rate of 30fps when recording 4K video, minimizing the rolling shutter effect which typically occurs when recording fast -moving subjects or when panning the camera quickly, the company said.

For rapid image capture, enhanced face-detection and autofocus algorithms all focusing on fleeting moments and rapidly moving subjects, even in low-light.

4K Ultra HD video is recorded in high resolution 4K/30P offering a cinematic with high-quality bokeh effect backgrounds for close-ups with highly accurate colors. Videographers can record, upload, and
share clips on-the-go with a “Countdown Video” mode that times video recordings at pre-selected durations or: 15, 30 or 60 seconds. This makes it fast and easy to grab and upload of video clips to social media platforms.

Offering good use-per-charge duration, the X-A7 can shoot approximately 440 pictures per load.

The Fujifilm X-A7 also offers a good selection of shooting modes to produce professional level images. A new Bright Mode feature has been added to the Advanced SR Auto function, to automatically make the necessary settings to produce high dynamic range (HDR) for images with bright highlights, detailed black and vivid colors in a single, one-touch operation.

A Light Trail mode, added to the Scene Position selection, can be used to capture streaming light trail effects from bright moving objects like car headlights, while enabling the photographer to monitor the effect in real time on the camera’s LCD screen.

The X-A7 also offers enhanced connectivity for easy linking to smartphones and tablets, with the use of a free camera remote app for smartphones and tablet devices that provides dependable wireless connections. The X-A7 also supports wired communications with smartphones and tablet devices when it is more efficient to transfer large data files like video clips to mobile devices and laptops.
