Element Electronics said that starting Nov. 27, 2017 it will launch a new 4K Ultra HD Element Roku TV with High Dynamic Range (HDR) through Walmart stores. Pricing was not disclosed.
The Element Roku TV will have a 50-inch screen size and will feature the built-in Roku OS 8.0 Roku TV remote with expanded voice command capability.
Element said the set will provide 3840 x 2016p 4K Ultra HD resolution that will be enhanced with HDR10 profile high dynamic range, offering a wider range of contrast with deeper blacks and brighter whites.
The set will join the Element 4K Ultra HD Fire TVs, available through Amazon, which went on sale earlier in the year. That first-generation Element Fire TV set lacked HDR display support, however.

The new 4K Ultra HD Element Roku TV with HDR will provide access to more than 500,000 movies and TV episodes through more than 5,000 streaming channels.
The TVs will include the new Roku OS 8 featuring a new Smart Guide designed to offer a programming grid with programming of live over-the-air broadcast stations received by the TV’s tuner using a local antenna. The interface is designed to bring together easy access to live TV and over-the-top streaming TV programs and channels through the Roku easy to use platform.

The Roku platform will also provide a 4K Spotlight App that aggregates available channels deliver 4K Ultra HDTV content that can be viewed on the TV’s screen. Other new Roku 8 OS features include an enhanced voice control system that now helps users find and launch programs and over-the-air channels as well as the ability to control key controls of the Roku TV.
The 4K Ultra HD Element Roku TV with HDR also includes a new Roku Channel, offering a library of free ad-supported movies. In addition to the supplied Roku remote control, the new Element Roku TV can be controlled by a mobile app available for use with iOS and Android devices.
In addition, the Element 4K Ultra HD Roku TV with HDR includes three HDMI inputs and two USB ports. It has built-in Wi-Fi, a wired Ethernet port, optical audio output and analog composite video/audio input.
As a special holiday promotion, new Element Roku TV purchasers will receive one free month of DirecTV NOW and separately a free month of Showtime with the purchase of a new Element Roku TV.
