Denon introduced Tuesday two new soundbars, highlighted by the DHT-S716H which can be expanded to a true 5.1-channel surround setup by adding a pair of HEoS wireless surround speakers and a Denon wireless subwoofer.
The Denon DHT-S716H and the DHT-S516H soundbars will hit retail stores in September at suggested retail prices of $899.99 and $799.99, respectively.
The DHT-S516H features a low-profile design at just 2-inches tall and includes a wall mount. The DHT-S516H is designed to fit under most table-top positioned televisions without blocking any screen real estate. It supports a range of surround sound formats including: Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS decoding and includes Denon Dialogue Enhancer for improved intelligibility. It also ships in a kit with a balanced wireless subwoofer.
Other features in the Denon DHT-S516H include: easy setup and connectivity, with HDMI and Audio Return Channel ports, an optical digital audio input, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm auxiliary input and AirPlay 2.
Both new soundbars have built-in support for HEoS multi-room wireless speaker connectivity, but the DHT-S716H goes a bit further.

The Denon DHT-S716H soundbar is designed to offer deep room-filling sound from a single unit, but it can optionally pair with a Denon DSW-1H wireless sub for bigger bass. It will also connect with a pair of Denon HEoS wireless speakers to add surround support for a full 5.1-channel surround sound experience.
The Denon S716 adds to the package support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio lossless surround decoding; four HDMI inputs with 4K Ultra HD pass through, HDCP 2.2, HDR, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby Vision, plus ARC support.
The Denon DHT-S716 doesn’t support AirPlay 2 functionality.
The Denon DSW-1H wireless subwoofer is available now at a $599 suggested retail price.
