Denon Unveils High-Performing Integrated Amps, CD Player At ‘High End Show’
Sound United’s Denon brand introduced Thursday a pair of high-performance 2-channel integrated amps, including a model with built-in HEOS multi-room audio networking, and a high quality CD player.
The new products make their debut starting today at the High End Show in Munich, Germany.
The Denon PMA-900HNE is billed as “the first standard size HEOS-Built-in 2 channel integrated Denon amplifier.” Denon is positioning the component as a “building block for the new generation of audiophiles giving access to digital music and streaming with the superb Denon sound at an affordable price.”
The Denon PMA-900HNE will carry a $949 suggested retail price, when it ships in July. This amplifier is equipped with an advanced high-current 85-watt per channel amplifier 2-channel output and oversized power supply to for high quality detail, imaging, and balance and wide range of speaker compatibility.
The PMA-900HNE makes it easy to stream stereo music via a home Wi-Fi network, providing access to music from popular service providers as well as AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and multi-room audio capability through Denon’s popular HEOS whole-home streaming platform.
The PMA-900HNE is compatible with high-resolution digital audio ALAC, FLAC, and WAV lossless files up to 24-bit/192 kHz, as well as DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz tracks (the audiophile format of SACD).
To pair with the PMA-900HNE, Denon has also introduced its precision CD player with USB playback in the DCD-900NE, which will go on sale in July at a $549 suggested retail price.
The Denon DCD-900NE CD player and PMA-900HNE together will provide matching stackable components that reproduce “any type of digital music,” the company said.
Denon engineers have incorporated advanced AL32 Processing Plus circuitry that reproduces each recording with precision and clarity.
The DCD-900NE features an integrated USB port for high-resolution playback up to PCM 192kHz/24bits and DSD 2.8MHz/5.6MHz. A vibration-resistant design isolates the CD player from unwanted energy and vibration, for signal purity in any system.
The company said that when matched with the Denon PMA-900HNE, listeners be able to enjoy clean, warm CD playback.
For even more advanced golden-ear enjoyment, Denon is also showing a high-current integrated amplifier, model PMA-1700NE, with up to 140-watts per channel Hi-Fi output power. The PMA-1700NE will be available starting in June at a $2,099.
The PMA-1700NE offers connectivity for both analog and digital sources, including turntables outfitted with either moving magnet or moving coil cartridges. It salso supports optical and coaxial digital inputs for other home theater devices including TV sound and media player integration.
Denon said the PMA-1700NE will present high-resolution digital music up to 11.2-MHz DSD and 384-kHz/32-bit from a computer using the USB-B input mated to a precise master clock and high-performance DAC that effectively suppresses jitter for best performance during digital playback, the company said. Outputs include A/B speaker terminals as well as a subwoofer pre-out.
The PMA-1700NE features a vibration-resistant design with maximum isolation and premium part, including an electronic volume control for smooth, channel-linear adjustment of output levels, gold-plated speaker terminals and analog source-inputs to prevent corrosion over time and maintain reliable, long-term connections.
