Denon HEOS products like this HomeCinema sound bar and subwoofer will soon be adding Alexa voice control.
Denon Electronics said it has teamed up with Amazon to integrate Amazon Alexa hands-free voice service in Denon’s HEOS-enabled multi-room audio products.
The companies said they expect the first integrated Denon HEOS products to hit the market in the first quarter of 2017.

With Alexa voice operability, HEOS users will be able to use natural speech to control HEOS-enabled products instead of the HEOS app on an iOS, Android or Amazon Fire device.
Users will be able to ask Alexa to play music, answer questions, get news and local information, control smart home products and fuctions. Denon said the feature is expected to be available on all HEOS enabled devices in early 2017.
Best Selling Soundbars and 5.1 Surround Systems
Alexa integration follows Denon’s formation earlier in the year of a focused-voice user interface team, led by team leader Robby Kilgore.
Introduced by Denon in 2014, HEOS multi-room audio technology currently features four wireless multi-zone speakers; HEOS 1, HEOS 3, HEOS 5 and HEOS 7; the HEOS HomeCinema sound bar and subwoofer, the HEOS Drive multi-zone amplifier and the HEOS Link and HEOS Amp, that bring HEOS functionality to Hi-Fi systems and passive speakers.
HEOS connects devices wirelessly using an existing Wi-Fi network through the HEOS app. It gives users multi-room audio control at their fingertips, commanding music in every room from any HEOS device. The system will play high resolution audio, and enables connecting HEOS speakers via Bluetooth outside of a WiFi network for use on at picnic or on a beach.
