Denon introduced Tuesday its AVR-A1H flagship network AV receiver for 2023, incorporating a massive power transformer, and 150 Watts (at 8 ohms, 20-20kHz, THD 0.05%, 2ch driven) of power driving up to a15.4-channel (a 9.4.6 multi-channel) surround sound speaker layout.

The Denon AVR-A1H, which carries a $6,499 suggested retail price, supports both 8K pass-through and 8K upscaling of 4K content and all of the latest HDMI 2.1 features, the company said.

At the heart of the receiver is the latest dual-core, 1GHz digital signal processor (DSP).

The unit supports all of the 3D audio formats, including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auro 3D, IMAX Enhanced and 360 Reality Audio.

The receiver incorporates advanced room correction software for precise channel and tonal sound calbration. This includes support for the highest suite of Audyssey MultEQ technologies (installed) and optionally, Dirac Live upgradability (for an additional fee). Denon incorporates its acclaimed setup assistant to provide step-by-step setup instructions to make setup easy.

The Denon AV-A1H AVR’s 7 HDMI 2.1 inputs with “full feature support”.

HDMI Connectivity includes seven inputs and three outputs with one enabled for ARC/eARC use. Denon said all HDMI inputs and outputs “support the latest technology,” including 8K pass-through and 8K upscaling of 4K content, with HDCP 2.3 content protection for forward compatibility.

Other features include audiophile-grade DACs on all 19 channels, and support for the leading Hi-Res Audio codec formats including: MP3, WMA, WAV, MPEG- 4/AAC, FLAC, and ALAC.

Video support encompasses each of the major high dynamic range (HDR) profiles including HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG.

Denon also includes its HEOS wireless multi-room home entertainment hub bringing built-in wireless music streaming to supporting HEOS wireless speakers, soundbars and entertainment systems around the home. It also brings access to content from many of the largest online music services and access to networked libraries.

The AVR-A1H has been engineered and constructed using high-grade components at Denon facilities in Japan, to produce what the company considers “the ultimate example of the its signature sound.”
