The Rebel T6 comes equipped with a built-in 3-inch 920K-dot LCD monitor, and also has a high-performance optical viewfinder.
Other features include: a 9-point Auto Focus system with center cross-type point, an ISO low-light range of 100-6400 (expandable to ISO 12800), 3 fps burst shooting, Scene Intelligent Auto Mode and basic+ and creative auto shooting modes.
The Scene Intelligent Auto mode analyzes the image, accounting for faces, colors, brightness, moving objects, contrast and whether the camera is handheld or on a tripod. It then chooses the exposure and enhancements for the optimal image quality. The feature was designed to simplify the picture taking process while allowing photographers to concentrate on composing images without worrying about the correct settings.

Other fully automatic exposure modes include portrait, night portrait, landscape, sports, and close-up.
For the first time, the entry camera adds Wi-Fi connectivity with enabling fast uploading to the Internet and social media on the go.
