Danish design-centric AV systems manufacturer Bang & Olufsen (B&O) is now selling through its retail channels a Beosound Stage TV Floor Stand to support its advanced soundbar in combination with some third-party televisions.

The Beosound Stage floor stand recently appeared on the B&O USA web site listed at an “affordable” (by B&O terms) $800 retail price. It features what the company calls a “minimalistic design” and is available only in black.

The Beosound Stage soundbar and floor stand together with a TV screen, especially a B&O or LG C series 48-, 55- and 65- OLED TV, brings the overall setup more of the aesthetic sensibility of the Danish brand to mixed-and-matched TV configurations.

Because B&O works closely with LG on its own OLED TVs, the Beosound Stage soundbar is an especially good complement to LG C9 2019 and many 2020 LG OLED TVs, with better compatibility and integration between TVs with eARC support, Dolby Atmos decoding and other benefits.

B&O launched its Beosound Stage Soundbar (starting at $1,750 retail) at IFA in Berlin, Germany and CEDIA Expo in Denver, Co. late last summer.

B&O’s web page says the floor stand was crafted for “a simple profile with soft corners to mimic the frame around Beosound Stage.”

It is said to support a 16:9 aspect ratio TV shape “inspired by the shape of the TV screen, resembling a kind of shadow on the floor.”

As third-part TVs go, B&O said the Stage floor stand is optimized for carrying LG’s 48-, 55- and 65-inch OLED C9 & CX series models, “with the possibility to accept “other third party TV screens up to 65-inches,” typically other OLED TVs due to the weight and panel depth.

The interface between the TV screen and the floor stand is based on the VESA interface covering some third party TV screens from 40- to 65-inches up to a maximum weight of 56.4 pounds. Due to the thin structure of large, ultra-thin OLED screens, the Beosound Stange Stand does not support a manual turn function, the company’s literature states.

However, the Stage Stand was developed for sophisticated cable management, to hide cables within a tray from the soundbar to the floor.
